The structures are the tallest CMU buildings on the west coast of the United States.
Structure Description
The condominium complex consists of six 17-story towers, a smaller tower and a 3-story parking garage nestled against the west side of Albany Hill in Albany. The towers consist of high-strength (6000 psi) concrete masonry unit (CMU) shear wall construction.
Interesting Facts
- The bright colors again the Albany Hill make it the most notable structures driving on Interstate 80 as well as from Marin and San Francisco Counties.
- Today, the legal limit of CMU construction is twelve stories, a limit that did not exist when Gateview was constructed.
