Significance to Structural Engineering History in Northern California
John Sardis & Associates was an architect and structural engineering firm started by John Sardis in 1958 after leaving Bechtel Engineering. For nearly twenty years, the company worked on projects such as the Pacific Heights Towers in San Francisco, 1200 Lakeshore Avenue in Oakland, Arlington Towers in Reno and Blyth Memorial Ice Arena (1960 Winter Olympics) at Squaw Valley. Unfortunately, the company closed in 1975 when John unexpectedly passed away of a heart attack.
